The Knight Cartoonist and Her Orc Editor, Vol 1 by Indo So

A nice bit of humour and fun plot. Very quick and easy read. A bonus it is free on KU (the first 2 volumes are anyway). Curious to read more of this and see where it goes. The cover is suggestive but the book is more to it than that. Similar to Monster Musume which is another series I am enjoying and 10 Volumes deep.

A Book For Christmas by Selma Lagerlöf

An interesting little book, I had no idea about it or the author prior to reading it. It is a very Godly book and Christian with lots of messages about God and God’s will. Somewhat dated for today’s World I think. It does read more of a child’s book but I cant see today’s children getting through it.

The Moustache by Emmanuel Carrère

What a strange book, it started strong for me but then it slipped into something that left me perplexed. I have no idea what was happening which considering the psychotic episode of the main character is understood. A lot of the book felt wasted to me.

This was a book I started a year or two back and came back to this week. Happy to have finally finished it, but not one I would read again.

The Night Before Christmas by Nikolai Gogol

Well when I started to read this book I was feeling very stupid and disappointed because I thought I bought the other ‘The Night Before Christmas’ where through the house … I was thinking I didn’t know it was set in Russia!

But when I started to read it, what an enjoyable and wonderful book. A certified classic and great addition to my Christmas line up. A fun plot with great characters, a very sweet tale.
